Lake Leake

Things to do

  • Visit the Lake
  • Visit the Lake Leake Inn

Lake Leake is the name of both a man-made water storage reservoir and a very small township in the eastern midlands of Tasmania. We chose this location as it was a pub that was remote and had free camping facilities if you are fully self contained . We were greeted by Gus the Gorgeous St Bernard weighing in at 85kgs and the owner Troy. A welcoming drink was provided at 1030 in the morning . This place is a great to unwind and have a pub meal or drink as part of your stay here.

Troy the owner is the owner, cook, bar manager and paul and i shared the Tomahawk which was sufficient for the 2 of us and at a cost of $50 well worth it. The Lake Leake Inn is a comfortable and affordable accomodation with roaring fires during the colder months. If you are not fully self contained and travelling around you can use their toilets during closing areas speak to management first

There is a small camp Lake Leake camping ground 100 meters down at the lake the cost is $25pn. They also have showers cost $1 for 4 minutes an absolute bargain when you are travelling on the road and toilets.

If you visit and a dog lover Gus loves a good pat .
