Robe sounds like Rome but thats the only similarity .Robe is a seaside town tucked away on the South Australian Coast. It is approx 335km South of Adelaide. Our camping destination was at Lakeside Holiday Park which is on the shores of Lake Fellmongery. The camping ground must of pre heard my wishes for our stay there and we were lucky enough to have a camping site right on the Lake with a great view. The camping ground is located 5min walk from town. Arriving into ROBE for the first time it was pretty Surreal lots of Mist when every where else around Robe had perfect sunshine.

After we set up we went out to explore Robe. First up was Cape Dombey.

Cape Dombey had a lot of mist when we visited but it made it even better added an eerie feel to the place. There is the Obelisk which we could see from a distance but not visit due to erosion it is unsafe and to be honest looks like it is ready to topple into the ocean any time soon. The Obelisk is a Marker that assists boats coming into Robe. From the same area you can visit the ruins of the GAOL and take a walk around the coast to the Jetty. South Australia is well known for its lobster so if your in to this type of seafood you can go down to the Marina and ask the local fisherman if they have any to sell. Cash only of course $$$$$.

There is a long stretch of beach with white sand. We spent most of our day taking the Kayak out fishing and Sunbathing. The sea was a bit brrrr (fresh) but awesome as it was 30+ deg.

Robe is a very casual quiet place and good as a stop over when your out on the road for hours at a time. We spent 2 days here which was perfect to recharge and get ready for the next road adventure.
