About Us

Darls and The Boys

Paulie and i decided over 2 years ago yes pre Covid that whilst we were still semi young we would buy a caravan and travel for a year exploring Oz. At first i thought paul was kidding as i have done zero caravanning in my life and had absolutely NO IDEA.

So first up was to go and look at caravans. With over 100 different types of caravans in Australia we had really once again NO IDEA what to look at and i did not realise it is like a small mortgage buying one of these beauties. First up was a camping show all the caravans looked beautiful until i saw the price and had to ask paul a couple of times if this is real.

Most starting prices were over 100k new of course. So after visiting the caravan show i had to have a few wines to assess the finances and if this was going to happen. Fast forward 3 months later and then we were out and about again looking at caravans. This time we went to Jayco. Why ? because after research they are Australian owned and the quality was impeccable Buy local they say and thats what we did.

So after signing up for her our beauty TAJ because of her size we had to wait 7 months for her to get made before she was transported up from Melbourne. We think she is a limited range due to the closure of the Victorian border for such along time.

So we had the call to go pick her up. 7 months is a long time and i almost forgot what she looked liked. After pulling up in front of her the sheer beauty took my breathe away. She was just what we ordered. Of course the initial first drive was very scary and we were so naive with everything about her i still laugh now on some of the funny things we did.

Her maiden voyage was to Hervey Bay in QLD. After that trip we were hooked and could not wait to travel and explore more . So after many trips and so many fantastic experiences brings us to now on the road for a year to do our first lap of this vast land Oz in her with the 2 dogs.

So follow on facebook and Instagram and also my blog fasteddystravel.com

Enjoy and always be safe and kind on the Road….and for you caravanning dont forget to do the salute and wave.
