New South Wales National Parks

We visited 3 campgrounds on our way down the east coast of Australia so we could enjoy the different surroundings and beaches they have to offer. National Parks have wild life literally outside your door. This means no pets in National Parks to protect the wildlife in their environment.

Violet Camping Ground

Location~ Violet Hill Road NSW 2423

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Violet Hill Camping Ground is situated in the Myall Lakes National Park. The camping ground can only be booked on line as there is no office on site. This place is very popular for boat enthusiasts, so when we visited for one day launching our kayak compared to the big boats was a walk in the park.

The national park is surrounded by islands and is the area that weekend party boats depart from.

This place is so remote but very popular. I went snorkelling and kayaking around in the lake. There is a lot of weed and not much visibility whilst swimming , So boating is the way to go i say if you want to be sure you know what your’e surrounded by.

Toilets only provided.

National Park 3

Pretty Beach Camping Ground

Location ~ Murramarang National Park NSW

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Pretty Beach is an amazing location right on the beach .. This is the place to come if you want to surf, swim ,fish or go hiking. Paul and i completed at 12.5 km hike which took us up Mt Durras and back down along the pristine beautiful white beaches, they were so secluded we spent hours swimming by ourselves . Throughout the park there is wild life everywhere. Kangaroos will sit on your doorstep undisturbed by humans. After all this is their sanctuary. The views from Mt Durras down the coast is so rugged and rough mixed with pristine white beaches. They are so untouched worth a walk and a visit.
