Rating: 4 out of 5.

Nindigully is the oldest iconic pub and is located 515km south-west of Brisbane. It is believed that this pub has held the longest continuous liquor licence in history.

The pub is still in its original state with add ons to accomodate tourist. The new owner has tried to keep the authenticity of the pub whilst expanding accomodation and kitchen area to cater for the increase of visitors over the years.

This gem is positioned on the Moonie River and whilst your at the pub you can put your yabbie net in for a great catch as this is a well known spot for yabbie hunting.

The pub was issued their licence way back in 1864 after is was used as a shearer’s accomodation for Nindigully Station. From the late 1800s the pub was used for a Cobb and Co coach change over station

This place is also famous for hosting pig races and rallies which fills the camping area with up to 2000 campers…pretty impressive.

Their Menu is also famous for Australia’s BIGGEST burger. At a cost of $80 per burger you pretty much get everything with this. It is made up of 1.2kg of meat,1kg bun ,six tomatoes and entire iceberg lettuce, three beetroots, cheeses, pineapples and to top it off chips. It is a challenge for diners to attempt by themselves or you can share with your family and friends if your not up for this feat, it is comprised of 6 big burgers. This is definitely not for the faint hearted. We had fish and chips which were delicious the servings are very generous.

This is a lovely wee spot to stop either crossing the borders into New South Wales or Queensland. We will be back soon to watch the famous pig races and join in on the fun in the outback.
