Location~ Quobba Station
Cost ~ $20 per night
Quobba Station is located North West of the town Carnarvon and is a family operated pastoral station that borders 80kms of the Western Australia Coast. The station was established in 1898 so its been around for a while . The other property’s bordering this station is Boolathana Station which you will drive through and Gnarloo Station. The station rounds 10000 damaras ( South African Sheep) after originally running merino sheep on the property.
The station is a 187000 acre station and still has some of the original cottages and stables through out the camping area. The area surrounding this property hosts the light house and famous Blow Holes just down the road on the neighbouring Boolathana Station.
We stayed here for 3 days and were blown away from the beauty of the coastline. There is so much to see and take in.The road up to Red Bluff another camping ground is on dirt and quite rough, this will take you 50kms north from Quobba Station and with your Map given by Tim the owner you will get to see the top places to visit for that great photo along the way. The road is also shared by road trains so you have to be alert. The coastline here is also a great place for the avid fisherman there are Spanish Mackerel and Tuna to be caught just off the coast.
The camp itself is well known for its location and the owners Tim and Sara make it that much more special as amazing hosts.
Water is very limited here on the station ,but they do offer the most magnificent showers and toilets…including long drops. I have never experienced someone heating up my water by lighting a 🔥 fire every night what a treat indeed.
The experience out here is absolutely magical and for $20 a night is beyond a bargain. I could have stayed a lot longer for sure. With all the attractions to visit around here in close proximity it is an absolute must to visit. As it is a bush camp unless you require power you do not need to book.
If you require power there are time limits and no electrical devices to be used at all.
Enjoy 😉
