Tasman Holiday Park

After we left our Holiday destination of Townsville still with our little +1 Mahia we headed North to the beach at Rollingstone. Rollingstone is a rural town of Townsville and is 40kms north on the east coast. The population of this town is 125 people.

As First time grandparents with our grandson we decided to keep the first first car trip short.

We arrived at Tasman Holiday Park early as we wanted to get to the beach. The caravan park sits on 32acres and looks out to Palm and Havana Islands. Our camp site was right on the beach so the daily sunrises and sunsets were amazing. They also host two big fishing lakes in the park which are catch and release only. It was a novelty for a lot of young ones there. The camp also has a large pool with a waterfall and was crispy cold during these long hot days.

The beach is not for swimming in but there were a lot of Avid fishermen out there daily. I did not see anyone come back with anything so maybe not the best fishing spot. The camping ground was very spacious and offered Powered and Non powered sites , out door kitchens and my favourite part a bar……which we visited only once as it only open every second day.

As Rollingstone is rural there is not much to do but walk along the beaches and swim in the pool. The next biggest town from here going North is Ingham which is a 60km drive. Be sure to stock up before you go rural, we ran out of bread to many Marmite sandwiches happening here. The only shop near by was the local garage and the cost of a loaf of bread was $6. Rollingstone was a nice relaxing place to come and we all had fun including the mosquitos 🦟.
