I have always loved trains πŸš† and my bucket list is to travel on the famous Orient Express.

But I got to travel on the Spirit Of the Outback which has got me really excited about this type of Travel

I have to go back to Bris Vegas and leave my travel on the road for a couple of weeks so leaving Longreach I had the opportunity to take the train back on the famous Spirit of the Outback.

The journey takes 26 hours and will travel 1325 km in this time. The route starts at Longreach departing only on Monday and Thursdays @ 10am, and at Brisbane Tuesday and Saturdays.

The train ride has 19 stops on its journey and travels through so many outback towns that are rich in history,. From Balcadine known for its Tree of Knowledge to Emerald known for the famous Carnarvon Gorge and ancient aboriginal artwork there is alot to take in from this journey.

There are two types of accomodation on the Spirit Sleepers or Seated so this Business or Economy Class.

With my package of Sleepers /Cabin you get it All. Greeted by the amazing staff you arrive in your carriage to a welcoming package. This consists of a well designed menu and toiletries and also a book which will guide you through your journey

So first up was Lunch on board this gem.I was served with Baked Salmon Lemon Dill in Beurre Blanc Sauce followed by Passion Fruit Pavlova, very nice . Then followed with Dinner Pork Belly and Plum Sauce, Opera Gateau for dessert..so doing a few push ups and sit ups and walking around the train is an absolute must…if you don’t want to roll off the train

The diners carriage are set out well so you can sit down and eat the beautiful cuisine and enjoy the view of the outback from the comfort and Luxury this train has to offer.

As the train winds through the outback you are limited for WiFi Service so you can take the opportunity to use one of the many tablets on board to listen to history of the towns you are travelling through or you can choose to just watch your favourite Movie or Netflix.

I really enjoyed my time on this Journey just sitting and watching the amazing outback from a different perspective. If you get the chance to do this it is an amazing experience.
