This place is Berri Berri Nice. The best camping ground i have visited so far on our travels. This camp has absolutely everything and is in walking distance to the little cute town of Berri. It is a very busy place as the camping spot sits right on The GREAT MURRAY River. This park also offers their famous Pizza Nights bring your own toppings and they supply the rest. Cost is $7 per pizza inc of cooking.
We stayed here for 2 days and the weather was perfect for strolls along the river and visiting wineries. There are a few wineries close to Berri , Berri Estate is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Unfortunately it was closed on Sunday so we missed out maybe next lap around. So we ventured off to Banrock Winery which is a 1/2 hour drive from Berri. The winery is set on a large property and offers a cafe which hosts beautiful lunches with spectacular views.
There are a lot of impressive house boats that line the river of Berri. At night you can see the lights coming down the river from all the night dinner cruises. We met a guy in the park that had been on one of these cruises and for $69 pp he said it was well worth it.
Berri is a great place to sit back and relax whilst travelling in between big trips. It is also a very sociable place so you get to meet a lot of travellers and share your stories and experience with over a wine or two.
There is a lot to do in Berri if you want to get out and explore, or you can relax by the pool and enhance your travel tan like i did. I highly recommend this little town for a visit.
