Leaving a very windy camp behind in Cowell we were excited to try seek some shelter in Port Lincoln. We were bitterly disappointed it was so windy here in Port Lincoln caravan park some unfortunate camper had their awning blow on their roof only with minimal damage. I did send paulie to the rescue to get up on their roof and save the day by bringing the awning down.. Lucky he’s still agile !!!!

And this is where the start to our seaside holiday destination Port Lincoln holiday park begins. On entering this seaside caravan resort I hit the side of a bollard going into the caravan park. I managed to scrape the side of Taj adding a bit more character for her trip around Oz. Too add to the excitement of travel our poor car has to get all the injectors replaced $$$$$. As it is a long weekend here in Adelaide parts will not arrive until next week making our stay here at Park Lincoln Royale a wee bit longer. As we were waiting for the parts for the car we could not venture too far away from the Port so had to stay within range of some kind of mechanical assistance 😀

So lucky for us at this caravan park has so much to do. They cater for kids and have little park and safe swimming area for All Ages. It’s very calm. They also cater for cabins, powered non powered sites. Most sites get a view of the water which is a bonus

They have a Jetty which a lot of fishing and crab enthusiasts were out there morning noon and night. It became a place for socialising more so at night with a few drinks. There are also a few walks or bikeways close by to take advantage of. They are very pretty as they go along the coastline. If you choose the right time of day we took the dogs for swims 🏊‍♂️ 2 mins from the camp on secluded beaches the water was crystal clear.

A bit about Port Lincoln it is famous for Sea Food and Great White Shark Cage diving tours. Paul went out on the Shark tour only to come home disappointed the first time to not see a shark. There was no sightings on their tour or the second tour he took. There is no guarantee and you are made well aware of this before parting with your hard earned cash. The cost of $540 its not for the faint hearted. Please read terms and conditions on Calypso Star Charters in regards to the no shark refund policies. On the second trip they managed to get into the cage and took some great footage of kingfish and trevally and dolphins. It is along day so if your thinking about making this part of your bucket list have a spare day on your itinerary.

I was lucky enough to also go out on a tour to swim with the Sea Lions. The tour takes 5 hours and is well worth the $240 dollars. The tour consists of breakfast, snorkelling gear, swimming with these beautiful creatures and afternoon tea. There is also a bar on board…eeekkkk had to have a wine. It was such an amazing experience. We were not allowed on the Island and could not touch the Sea Lions. Imagine a boat full on tourists trying to jab at you on a daily basis if this was the case. I managed to get some really good underwater footage it took my breathe away. This tour is well worth doing if you do not want to see the Sharks.

We managed to go to Coffin Bay which we know are famous for their oysters. We spent a couple hours there and could not resist having fish n chips and of course some oysters for lunch. I tried the butter fish for the first time, and I am pleased to say it was absolutely delicious…give it a go if you ever get the chance. I had it (battered ) yummo

The rest of the days on our stay at the port were spent fishing, crabbing which is my new hobby and swimming. We were blessed with beautiful sunrises, sunsets and fantastic weather. I highly recommend staying at Port Lincoln Tourist Park it is clean has all the ammenities and they were very accomodating with our extended stay. You are in close proximity to the town of Port Lincoln and all the tours they have to offer. It is also central to all the beautiful national parks they have for you to enjoy. Coffin Bay is only 35 mins down the road for a quick oyster trip.

JUST A WARNING – Just remember if your towing a caravan into this park go wide at the boom gate…. just saying
