What a little hidden beauty this place is. Lake Hume Holiday Park is 30 mins from Albury. We had the best camping spot right on the lake but getting the caravan on to the site proved to be a wee mission. This is a perfect place to get away and relax and if you do not want to swim in the lake with the eels they have a semi heated pool for you to enjoy. We managed to finally take the kayak of the roof racks for the first time on our travels, it was becoming more of a windbreaker whilst driving than anything else. Perfect place to get away with family and friends. The sunsets are truly unreal here especially with a few red vinos and a cheese platter. We also had the chance to meet some lovely people here that are also travelling around and hopefully we will meet up again somewhere around OZ again soon.
We visited the town of Albury to get some supplies and were taken back by its tree lined streets and very quaint looking cottages through the town. The HUME DAM is also a very interesting place to visit . It is a 400 km Reservoir and the lake is in 2 states NSW (New South Wales) and VIC (Victoria). If you are an avid fisherman you will need to purchase a VIC fishing licence even if you enter in NSW water….go figure how does that work.
We stayed a week and throughly enjoyed our time here playing tennis, fishing, swimming and lots of sun ☀️ rays for the Vitamin D
