We arrived at show grounds only to be greeted by a very rude caretaker, so the rest of the one night stay was literally down hill. We had to camp one night on a slope but that’s what traveling is all about – get out and get amongst it. We came to Parkes for a purpose and that was to see the magnificent dish which did not disappoint by any measure. It is truly spectacular up close and also taking in the history is well worth the visit. And as a bonus entry is FREE……
