Bonny hills is situated 20 minutes south of Port Macquarie. We had to get the car serviced so decided we would beach it once again on the coast. It rained most the time and sometimes it was so foggy we could not see the beach from our campsite up high on the cliffs lol. Bonny hills in itself is beaches for miles and the local surf club which looks like a very high market Surf Club which they pride themselves on is only a 2 min walk from the camp. The Surf here is unreal and when we went for our morning walks there were many locals and tourists taking in the great surf this place has to offer. The surf club says it all it looks newly renovated, only downside is it is only open from Thursday -Sunday which we were unable to visit and see what the food and atmosphere was like. Next time i guess …

We took the opportunity to visit some more beaches and went to Camden Haven which is 30 minutes south of Port Macquarie. They have pristine beaches and are well known for their seafood (fish n chips) being right on the coast the fish is fresh and tasty North Haven Takeaway is the place to go. The shop is only open during the day closes at 5pm so be sure to get there before closure. There are many places along the water to enjoy your lunch too with a view.

Overall BONNY HILLS on a cliff is a good place to stay. It is pet friendly and very clean. And there are shops accessible right over the road. Best fresh bread rolls ever…. and you can fuel up there too.
